ARSC Hacks Blog

Keeping you updated on the Wii and DS homebrew scene! And now the DSi!

So many people have wanted a bannerbomb-like exploit for the latest Wii version. Until now, the only way you could get the Homebrew Channel was through retail games that you had to either own, buy, or rent. No longer! Now you just need an SD card like the good old days. Likely, I have released a tutorial on this exploit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXiGFnxvZUQ

So crediar managed to exploit the Wii Message Board. This allows you to hack your Wii without the use of any games (ex; lego indiana jones, lego blahhhh)
The exploit hasn't been released yet, and I think he's going to wait until Skyward Sword is released. Since Nintendo will probably issue another update along with that game. Anyways, video proof below:

MAILBOX BOMB:

As always, I will have a fresh new tutorial once this exploit is released. :)

YEAH! I'm impressed at how I managed to edit this is only 2 days... :D
Well check out the new video below. Also! Be sure to check out a new collab channel that I'm in, it's called AuroraAlliance and I'll be uploading gameplay (mostly RPG stuff) regularly :)

How to get FREE WiiWare, Virtual Console, and Custom Channels

How to softmod any 4.2 Wii:

and if you missed the last video since I didn't make a post about it:
How to softmod any 4.3 Wii: [Link]

I did some pretty beast editing in both, and the background music is sexy. So check them out if anything for those reasions. xD

A video tutorial on using Bathaxx, yet another Wii exploit that allows you to load a boot.elf file from the root of your SD card. This allows you to install the Homebrew Channel, a channel that opens a window of possibilities for your Wii. Click here to watch the video!
I have to say, this is one of my most well edited and organized video I've put together. SO, even if you know how to do this, I recommend watching it for the soundtrack as well as the editing. Who knows, maybe if you're interested, I'll give you some tips/hints for your own videos.

This exploit works on the original Lego Star Wars game as well as the newer (1.01) release (NTSC and PAL) all through one masterfully crafted save.

Team Twiizers and lewurm have released their new Exploit called Bathaxx. As with most other exploits, it works with a hacked save file, this time for the game LEGO Batman.

Version 0.8 of the homebrew channel and beta 6 of bootmii has been released! Here are the new features:
- Homebrew Channel has USB 2.0 support. If you have a version below 4.3 and want USB 2.0 support, go into the homebrew browser, Utilities, then download the IOS58 installer. If you don't have internet access on your Wii then here is the installer's wiki page: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/IOS58_Installer
- General Bug fixes to Bootmii.

ALSO If you didn't know, you can add themes to your Homebrew Channel: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_Channel/Themes

Btw, I'm going to try to write more interesting posts and not be all nerdy and technical all the time... Lol.

Ok it's been confirmed. Smash Stack doesn't work, the wiki page is apparently misleading. What you can do now is two things: Either try Indiana Pwns or WAIT PATIENTLY until an exploit is found. I will be one of the first to know and will make a tutorial as QUICKLY as I can. People just be patient...

So this is the newest video I've made. It's about getting free Gamecube Games and playing them on your Wii!
-----------------------
I've been told that It looks proffesional and such and I agree. :P It's actually my first video that has voice (Thanks to Samsome000) and It's probably the most "noob-friendly".

I decided to wait at least a week before posting anything about Wii 4.2 on my blog since I though it would take at least a week or two until a fix came out. Lucky for us, Nintendo was so dumb they only changed the title id of the homebrew channel so a fix was available within 48 hours (today). Talk about Nintendo failure. Anyway I'm not going to make another video on how to get the Homebrew Channel on 4.2, I just updated my already existing video and posted on my site and twitter to get the word out. So on to the fix and information.

Sep 29, 2009: Nintendo has released a new version of the Wii, 4.2. If you update through Nintendo you will upgrade to this version. This version deletes the Homebrew Channel and disables the bannerbomb exploit (v1).

Fixes:
If you've ALREADY updated your Wii to 4.2 use Bannerbomb v2 to get the Homebrew Channel:
http://bannerbomb.qoid.us/index.new.php

If you HAVEN'T updated to 4.2 but you WANT TO use the Hackmii installer v5 (http://www.bootmii.org) to update your homebrew channel to 1.0.5 with it. Once your Homebrew Channel is updated you can update to 4.2 and the Homebrew Channel will still be there. However it is NOT recommended to update to 4.2

The old gecko os cheat code database (http://usbgecko.com/codes) was moved to a newer location:
http://geckocodes.org

The database includes cheat codes for NTSC, PAL, and JAP regions or wii games, virtual console games, and wiiware games. Just click on the picture and chose the platform. It also has a nice search bar. Here is the link to the official gecko forums: http://wiird.l0nk.org/

Many people have been asking me, "how do you downgrade your Wii?" Well ive been searching all over youtube for the video that is the most accurate and helpful and I have found this one. I apologize for not making a Downgrading video myself, but since there is alot out there already why not use them? Visit the link below to find out more about this video and be sure to read the description box.
